£10 Fund

The £10 Fund is a PTFA-led fundraising initiative that provides the school with a level of extra financial support that enables them to acquire the things that make a huge difference to every child at St Joseph’s.

Historically, this has included the funding of:

  1. The Learning Cabin
  2. School tablets/iPads and laptops
  3. Refurbishment of library areas
  4. Forest school (clothing and leaders)
  5. Decorating school classrooms
  6. Picnic tables
  7. Christmas and Easter parties
  8. Free fireworks display
  9. Sports and play equipment
  10. Supporting the school hardship fund
  11. A complete set of iPads
  12. Smart Boards in classrooms
  13. The refurbishment of the Reception Class play area
  14. Annual school trip to see the Panto
  15. Plus lots of other small essential things that the school would otherwise go without

The principle of the fund is very simple, we aim to raise £10 per month, per child in the school, by asking parents to set up a monthly Standing Order donation to the PTFA. We also ask that parents who are eligible to claim Gift Aid on this donation complete a form and return it to the PTFA as this can add an extra 25% Government contribution to their donation. Put simply, every £100 donated by parents will become £125 of extra funds for the school if Gift Aid is claimed – you can also claim tax relief on these donations if you are eligible.

The scheme currently generates around a third of all PTFA funds and is incredibly important to our fundraising efforts. There is no limit to the amount that can be donated by any individual or family, we simply ask that you donate whatever you can. However, we would also like to strongly emphasise that the scheme is entirely voluntary and confidential and that there is no compulsory requirement for any family to take part in it.

If you feel that you are able to contribute to the scheme downloadable forms are available here: Standing Order Form and Gift Aid Form. You can print and complete the Standing Order form and hand it in at your bank, or, in the case of many banks, simply set it up through online banking using the PTFA details from the form attached.  The completed Gift Aid form must be printed, completed and returned directly to the PTFA by posting it in the red PTFA box in the school playground – if you are eligible for Gift Aid this is really important! The gift aid forms can be completed online and sent to us via email.

We would like to thank you all so much for your support of this scheme, it really does make a huge difference to every child in the school!
